Abstract This article presents the results of analysis of zero/plus-energy city gate station, i.e. energy-self-sufficient. Describes the tasks that are function of gas stations. Presented are the possibilities of modernization of reduction systems currently used in the gas industry. The technical solutions of the city gate station, in which the waste energy from pressure reduction process is subsequently converted into electricity and heat for the processes of gas dehydration and gas preheating, are presented.
